Files for one session
A code, a QR code and a drop zone, open for the length of a workshop. Everyone in the room adds files and takes them out; the room deletes itself when the timer runs out.

Join a room
Type the six characters from the screen — or scan the QR with your phone, which lands here with the code already filled in.
how a room works
1 · Someone opens it
Opening a room needs a confirmed email address — one link, once per browser, valid for 30 days — so the tool cannot be used as an anonymous file host. Then a title and a lifetime between 15 minutes and 24 hours: the host gets the code, the QR as an SVG on the page and as a PNG for a slide, and one admin link — the only way to close the room early.
2 · Everyone joins
Type six characters or scan the QR — the code is unambiguous by design (no 0/O, no 1/I/L). Joining asks for nothing else: no account, no email address, no list to end up on. Whoever holds the code is in the room.
3 · It closes itself
Every file disappears when the timer runs out, without anyone doing anything. A download counts on the file, so the room shows what was actually taken. A room that fills up refuses the next file instead of quietly dropping one.
- the email gate, precisely
- Your address stays on this server and is used for the daily limit of 5 rooms per address; a room itself records only a hash of it. The confirmation link works once and expires after 15 minutes; the access it grants lasts 30 days and can be signed out in one click.
- downloads never open in the page
- Files are always served as attachments, with the uploaded content type discarded. An uploaded HTML or SVG file can therefore never run as a page on kmail.at.
- who can remove a file
- The browser that uploaded it, and the host who opened the room — nobody else. Delete tokens are shown once and stored nowhere but that browser.
- what is kept
- File names, sizes, timestamps and download counts while the room is open, and nothing after it closes: the room directory is deleted, not archived.
- limits
- 100 MB per file, 1.0 GB and 50 files per room. Rooms hold a workshop's worth of design files and slides — they are not a file host, and say so if you need something bigger.
